Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 – Streamers Kai Cenat and YourRage Shockingly Encounter Racism Relating to George Floyd

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 went live globally on October 28, and has had intense hype building up to its launch. There has lately been a lot of uproar about Kai Cenat and YourRAGE’s encounter with a few racists in the new Modern Warfare 2 lobby, despite the fact that Call of Duty lobbies are infamous for their toxic nature.

A few videos from yesterday’s livestream have received a lot of attention on social media, and the gaming community has reacted in a variety of ways. While many people viewed the incident as nothing out of the ordinary, others were perplexed as to how such obvious usage of offensive language could be so prevalent in such a well-known video game.

Racist Comments Were Aimed at Kai Cenat and YouRAGE While Playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Twitch’s most popular channel right now, Kai Cenat, was playing Modern Warfare 2 with YourRAGE when their in-game teammates started using offensive language toward the well-known Black content creators. Additionally, when the streamers called out the racist commentator, he doubled down and sternly instructed them that if they don’t want to hear the n-word used, they should stop playing the FPS game.

The teammate said “Don’t buy the game Call of Duty if you don’t want to be called a ni**er. Don’t talk.” Kai was outraged and shouted back “Dude we don’t do that shi* bro. Chill out man. Dude what the f*ck… that’s totally not cool bro what the f*ck!”

When Kai asked the player why he hates Black people, this is what he said: “It’s not that I don’t like Black people, I don’t agree with that… George Floyd. He’s a f*cking bi*ch. George Floyd is a bi*ch… George Floyd deserved to die. George Floyd deserved to die.”

Activision made news last year for removing hundreds of thousands of players with racist names in an effort to reduce toxicity in Warzone. Racism and Call of Duty have a very extensive history in subsequent games. Regrettably, Activision is notorious for being powerless to respond to the constant abuse directed towards voice chat.
