Ranked play will arrive in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in 2023

The fate of Modern Warfare 2’s Ranked Play was announced by Treyarch, the studio behind the Call of Duty: Black Ops series and the Zombies mode, on Twitter on November 2. According to the official information, the most recent Call of Duty game will have a variety of modes and related features, including Ranked Play, released in 2023.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which had its official release on October 28, was a huge hit with fans who loved the game’s visual style and narrative. Along with the campaign and special operations categories, it includes all the widely-liked multiplayer modes as well as a few brand-new ones. Players of the game must, however, wait until 2023 in order to access Ranked Play.

Ranked Play, which was absent in earlier Modern Warfare games, has been demanded by gamers who enjoy competitive game play. The good news is that Modern Warfare 2 will soon begin promoting competitive game play and recognizing admirable efforts with rank and skill ratings.

The following features will be available under Ranked Play thanks to Treyarch’s collaboration with Activision and Infinity Ward:

  • Competitive modes
  • Ranked skill divisions
  • Visible skill ratings
  • Top 250 leaderboard
  • Competitive rewards

The CDL (Call of Duty League) Moshpit, which will launch with Modern Warfare 2’s Season 1 update, will be available for users to play while they wait for the competitive modes to launch. It will be a brand-new playlist with league maps in it. As with the other playlists, gamers can experience Moshpit in a casual set-up until Ranked Play launches.

According to Treyarch, Black Ops Cold War League Play and Vanguard Ranked Play will be discontinued before the end of this month. Players have until November 22 to claim their remaining awards from these modes.

While Treyarch has not yet specified a release window or date, Ranked Play is anticipated to be brought to Modern Warfare 2 around the beginning of 2023, just before the CDL starts. In December, the renowned Call of Duty League will get underway, putting 12 teams against one another in a hostile arena to determine who will win the grand prize.
