A new Resurgence map is said to be in the works for Warzone 2.0

Call of Duty fans are waiting for the release of Warzone 2.0, which will introduce Al Mazrah, the biggest Warzone map to date. A recent leak suggests a ‘Resurgence’ map scheduled for release in mid-2023. It has been implied to be under development.

The latest leak comes from Twitter user @TheGhostOfHope, claiming that the developers of Beenox and Toys for Bob are creating a new ‘Resurgence’ map for Warzone 2.0. In addition, the two will consult with and seek guidance from Infinity Ward and Raven Software.

Infinity Ward was the developer of numerous COD games including Modern Warfare, Warzone and Modern Warfare 2’s remake. Raven Software is currently co-developing all COD games, and first started with Call of Duty: Black Ops.

If the rumors are true, Beenox and Toys for Bob are developing a new map that not only hints at big plans for Warzone 2.0, but also the development of new Call of Duty titles under the supervision of Infinity Ward and Raven Software. The tweet suggests that Infinity Ward will help guide the narrative and that Raven Software will pitch in on game-play ideas.

The making of the Resurgence map also reinforces previous tweets that suggested Warzone could drop their current maps, Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep, with the arrival of Warzone 2.0. This would result in Caldera being the only playable map.

The Resurgence Helicopter could return to Warzone 2.0 in Mid-2023

Resurgence is a popular game mode in Warzone that allows you to return even after dying, as long as your teammate survives. Resurgence’s release in mid-2023 may be too late for Warzone 2.0 to maximize retention, but @TheGhostOfHope previously stated that the next map in the game would be added after Al Mazrah. It is currently unknown if this next map refers to the Resurgence map or not.
