Warzone

The prequel, Warzone, will go offline because of the release of Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0. Activision has stated that cosmetics won’t transfer to the next game and is pulling Warzone offline for 12 days to concentrate on keeping the sequel stable.

Patch notes in the most recent Call of Duty blog describe how the company will handle the game’s next major release over the holidays. The Warzone servers will go temporarily offline on November 16 at 8 a.m. PT, and the game’s creator, Raven Software, anticipates that service will resume on November 28 at 10 a.m. PT.

Warzone is rumored to come back online as “Warzone Caldera”

As part of Modern Warfare 2 Season 1, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 will debut on November 16 at 10 a.m. Pacific Time. Raven Software’s developers will be focused on ensuring the new Warzone 2.0 free-to-play ecosystem is operating “effectively” during the downtime.

The blog adds that this provides them time to honor a forthcoming US holiday and make sure both games are “fully stable.” Players can check out the 2.0 release for free while Warzone is unavailable, and the old Warzone will subsequently return as Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera. Additionally, a few goods will be given to Warzone gamers for Warzone 2.0 use.

Player cosmetics from the original Warzone will not be able to be transferred over. The Caldera re-launch is still regarded as a separate game, and not related to Warzone 2.0 or Modern Warfare 2 as rumors indicated earlier.
