How CS: GO ranking system works?
The Counter-Strike Global Offensive ranking system uses a different method to calculate the ranking of the player from any other game. It will calculate on the basis of your damage deal in-game, KDA, MVPs, bomb plants, bomb diffuses, map knowledge, aim, utility uses, game sense, and crosshair placement.

Calculating all of these games gives you points you can call ELO or MRR, collecting these points will increase your rank. If there is seen in a decrease in the points due to the losses will automatically your rank also decrease.

In CS: GO you will see level along with a ranking system, which means there are some levels in the games which show the experience you have in the game, but it does not represent your skillset. It will increase due to the playing the game and you gain XP points, the higher level is 40th when a player reaches a peak the level automatically resets and players have to grind again from 1st level.
