Cyberpunk 2077 Sequel Announced by CD Projekt Along With The Witcher Sequels
New sequels have been announced for both The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077
CD Projekt RED, the developer of The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077, has announced sequels for both titles. The Polish gaming giant has launched a number of new games. Some of them are developed by the main studio, others are led by other developers. Cyberpunk 2077 is now having a good run after a somewhat rocky start.
Starting with The Witcher franchise based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels, the main attraction here is the all-new trilogy of games. We already knew there would be a sequel to the hugely successful The Witcher III: Wild Hunt, but now the studio plans to release three new main series games.
The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077 Sequels Have Been Announced
The second and third games in this new trilogy are set to release within six years, but the first game is currently in pre-production under the working title Project Polaris. Next up is Project Sirius, a “revolutionary twist” on the franchise aimed at existing fans and new audiences. There will be plenty of hype for these editions.
Project Sirius is also in pre-production, with CD Projekt’s Boston-based studio The Molasses Flood leading development. A third-party team is working on a new open-world, story-driven RPG codenamed Project Canis Majoris. The Cyberpunk series, which is based on the tabletop RPGs, has the 2077 expansion Phantom Liberty to work on.

Phantom Liberty is currently in the final stages of production, with most of CD Projekt RED’s main studio working on it, and it will be a major addition to the controversial game. Finally, Project Orion is the full sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 to which the main team will finally transition. It looks like this hasn’t started pre-production yet.
Additionally, CD Projekt hopes to add multiplayer to “most” of its upcoming titles and launch a third entirely original IP, currently codenamed “Project Hadar.” In the Youtube video above, viewers can see their plans highlighted from the 42nd minute. Given Cyberpunk 2077’s incredibly bumpy start and the fact that the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of The Witcher III haven’t been released in over two years after being announced, these plans are arguably ambitious.
