Dr DisRespect joins the list of influencers who are speaking up against Call of Duty.

“It’s not what I grew up with,” Dr DisRespect BASHES Call Of Duty for squandering millions of dollars on promoting in-game skin

The Call of Duty space has been seeing a lot of back-and-forths between the game and some of its top gamers. This seems to be because the game seems to have focused more recently on the culture outside of the game than the game itself. Many streamers have been publicly calling them out for it, and Dr DisRespect does once again.

Just recently, Call of Duty’s latest game, Modern Warfare 3, was released. NICKMERCS had revealed to his viewers that he wouldn’t be playing the game due to the controversy they shared. Back in June, when Nickmercs had gotten his skin bundle removed from Call of Duty for his comments towards a Pride Month event, many streamers had gotten backlash for standing up for him. Dr DisRespect was one of them.

Ever since then, Dr DisRespect, just like many other streamers, has been critical of the game’s shift towards focusing on operator skins and crossovers. Like many others, they believe Call of Duty should be more critical of the development of the game, given that the game has been focused more on spending their big budgets on a number of culturally famous figures or entertainment ventures.

Dr DisRespect calls out Call of Duty for focusing more on expensive skins within the game

Dr DisRespect, well known by his community as The Doc, recently took to his stream to express his personal opinions on the numerous skins being displayed on Warzone. He believes that Call of Duty no longer cares about improving the game in and of itself but rather about the culture that it seeks to represent in order to generate more revenue.

The Doc also pointed out the recent Spawn skin in Modern Warfare 2 Warzone. He says, “How much do you think it cost them to get Spawn in there? Like a million or something? And then they put the production into that video. They’re making high-level production video pieces on new skins in the  game.” However, he also points out the fact that the industry as a whole changed.

He says, “They’re making high-level production video pieces on new skins in the game, and people, I guess, like it. I don’t know the state of this industry; I don’t know where we’re at, man. That’s not what I grew up with. It was literally about playing the games and the fun aspects of playing the game and the interaction of playing games”. Many online seem to agree with him, as there is a clear focus on new operator bundles over the in-game updates of developing it to be better.
