While Twitch had been facing numerous backlash from users and other content creators due to the gambling controversy, revenue split issue and others, the Twitch convention at San Diego might have made things worse. Some streamers were glad to meet fellow creators and fans whereas others met with some disturbing experiences.

One of the most tragic incidents occurred when streamer Adriana Chechik broke her back when she jumped on the foam pit, kept for entertaining purpose. Multiple reports of streamers getting injured followed since then. This started a boycott wave among fans when Dr DisRespect joined in to provide his opinion.

Herschel Guy Beahm, the streamer known for his Call of Duty streams took to Twitter in order to explain that at this moment, he would hate to be the face of Twitch. He further criticized the people who went there by comparing them to “6th grade Mardi Gras Mother Son dance.”
