Emilycc sets new record on Twitch for longest running subathon, completes 1 year of streaming

Twitch streamer Emily, or “Emilycc” set a new record on the platform when she became the first streamer to have a subathon spanning over one whole year on Twitch, and is still running. At the time of writing, Emily’s stream has been running for a whopping 369 days, or 8869 hours. The record for the highest subathon stream before Emily belonged to the famous streamer Notmes, who had streamed for 115 days, which, in retrospect to Emily’s record, seems pretty tame.

A subathon is essentially a stream wherein subscribers can add time to the stream by subscribing or donating to the channels. Streamers decide how much time would be added per subscriber or donation, and the stream keeps going till either the streamer shuts it off, or the time is lapsed. The stream can either be capped or uncapped, with Emily deciding to do an uncapped stream. When Emily started streaming, she would increase the stream by 1 minute for 100 bits/$1 ; 2.25 minutes for a re-sub to her channel ; 3 minutes for a new subscriber ; and 4 and 5 minutes for anyone who would be a tier 2 or tier 3 subscriber respectively.

What does Emily do on her stream?

Most of Emily’s stream is spent with her doing her daily chores and routine. Sometimes, she also comes to chat and discuss what she is gonna do for the day, apart from her gaming. During the course of her stream, she has played a number of titles like Apex Legends, Red Dead Redemption 2, World of Warcraft etc. She also enjoys playing horror themed games. Throughout the day, her dog Snowy also makes multiple appearances on her stream. Fans have been following her daily routine for a year and have nailed down details like her sleep timings and her gaming hours so that they can log in then.

Emily is a 25 year old streamer from New York. She started streaming on Twitch since 2016 and has been a partner since October of that month. She is currently living in Austin, Texas, following the example of many other streamers who reside there because of the relaxed tax laws of the state. She wasn’t a very famous streamer, but her channel has experienced immense growth since this subathon. He goal is to continue this for around 730 days, which is just around 2 years. It would be interesting to see her achieve this feat, considering she’s already halfway there.
