The gaming industry and famous studios have been doing great over the past few years. Major AAA titles are taking over the gaming community. Furthermore, even indie developers with games like Palworld are basking in glory. However, hacking attempts have become more common, too! Recently, Epic Games fell victim to a cyber attack by the Mogilevich ransomware gang, with 200 GB of internal data stolen!

Recently, there have been many cyber attacks on various gaming studios. Insomniac Games, the studios behind Spider-Man games, suffered a massive cyber attack a while back. Hackers leaked many of their unfinished and upcoming projects. Furthermore, the attack was so bad that Insomniac scraped many of their projects in development.

The case with Rockstar Games was even worse. Although the hacker behind Rockstar Games is now in a hospital prison, the damage done to the company persists. Furthermore, there does not appear to be any intention of ceasing these attacks anytime soon. Moreover, the game inflicted upon Epic Games by the Mogilevich Ransomware group is even worse!

Over the past few months, Epic Games has been appearing frequently in the news and on social media. Most of this fame is due to court cases against Google and Apple. Moreover, Epic Games has grown as a game-distributing platform and gaming studio.

Fortnite, Epic Games’ ground-breaking success, has made the company highly popular. However, all these Fortnite players and other Epic Games users may be in trouble now, as the Mogilevich Ransomware group launched a cyber attack on Epic recently and stole over 200 GB of internal data, including user data, employee data, passwords, payment details, and much more.

This is a massive blow to Epic Games, even worse than the recent $73 million in legal fees Apple has asked the firm to pay. Furthermore, this cyber attack can threaten many Epic Games users, as their data has been leaked. Moreover, the Mogilevich ransomware gang went dark soon after carrying out this attack.

However, Epic Games has still not confirmed this cyberattack. The ransomware group is asking for a tremendous amount of money without showing any proof of the hack. Despite that, users should keep cycling their passwords regularly and remove any payment details on their Epic Handle.
