The upcoming ranked mode in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 has garnered a lot of hype. Call of Duty vastly appeals to a casual gaming audience. The percentage of players who play the ranked mode in the franchise is quite low when compared to other shooting games. However, a largely dedicated section of the fanbase still looks forward to the mode every year.

Unfortunately for these competitive players, they may have to wait longer to enjoy Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Ranked mode. Call of Duty fans have largely criticised the series’ ranked mode for progressively worsening each year after Black Ops 2’s near-perfect ranked mode. They blamed Call of Duty developers like Infinity Ward for rushing their games to meet the yearly release date.

Owing to a small competitive player base, Activision decided to shift the release of every Call of Duty game’s ranked mode to a few months after the game’s release, owing to the complaints about the game feeling rushed. The announced date for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Ranked mode was January 17th, 2024.

An official Call of Duty Twitter account recently made an announcement. The tweet was about not meeting the promised deadline for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Ranked Mode. The post mentioned that the developers are investing in a recently-discovered critical issue. This will lead to a launch delay.

The post mentioned that the team is working to solve this issue. They did not give any new tentative date for the game’s launch. This left fans wondering whether they could enjoy the mode after a few hours of the promised time or if they would have to wait for multiple days.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 was released on November 10th, 2023. Fans were already upset with the mode coming out two months after the game’s release. Further delaying the release date has outraged fans. The ambiguity about a new release date also has fans confused. They are angry at the lack of communication by a multi-billion dollar publishing house.

Call Of Duty MW3 still hasn’t come to a smooth run and keeps running into backlash. Devs need to do some critical thinking if they want to grow their player base rather than shrink it eventually.
