Fans have long criticized streaming platforms such as Twitch and Kick for failing to control NSFW content on their platforms appropriately.
Twitch was long condemned for imposing harsh bans on streamers for minor mistakes. After the platform loosened its policies regarding NSFW content, chaos broke out, and the Hot Tub Meta of 2021 was born. This has gotten even worse recently with the Topless meta and Black Bar’s meta.
To make things worse, Twitch further implemented the Artistic Nudity policy, which allowed creators to display fully nude animated characters on their live streams. The platform later rescinded the policy as it caused an outbreak of NSFW content on its platform and resulted in a lot of backlash from fans.
Despite these blunders by the Amazon-backed platform, Kick is not free from similar criticism either. A photo of the front page of Kick has recently made rounds on the internet.
The front page promotes a stream whose thumbnail features a woman lifting her shirt to flash herself.

Twitch and Kick under fire for promoting NSFW content
This has caused the platform to face a lot of backlash from fans. Many internet users have criticized such practices for promoting NSFW content on the platform.
This is done to get more people to view streams and spend more time on the platform. Several others have also raised a voice about such algorithms potentially being used to target kids and audiences of a younger age.
These platforms have also become a popular place for OnlyFans models to promote their content. Recent metas such as the Topless Meta and Black Bars meta were famously started by female OnlyFans models. They do this either to use Twitch for promoting their OnlyFans or for views and donations.
Sharing a wide spectrum of reactions online, here’s what fans have to say:
The host of DramaAlert, Keemstar, said that news-reporting platforms such as his own company are equally bad.
They use the same content and disguise it as if they are the good guys for calling it out. In reality, they are also using these lure images to get more views and clicks. Despite the massive uproar, Kick has still not responded to this situation.
