Mason Greenwood removed from FIFA 22 roster: Arrest over rape allegations and assault

This last week saw the surfacing allegations of rape and physical assault against Mason Greenwood. Following this news, he was arrested and has promptly been removed from the FIFA 22 player roster.
The allegations came from a woman on Instagram who accused him of rape and assault. He was thereafter arrested by Greater Manchester Police, and released on bail. However, he was re-arrested again due to threats from him about assault and he now remains in police custody.
This news has shocked fans of the club and the player, but the response from the club has been quick. Manchester United has stated that Mason Greenwood will not play for the club anymore until further notice. EA Sports has also taken action on their part and removed Greenwood from FIFA 22 permanently.
Mason Greenwood removed from all packs in FIFA 22
FIFA 22 has a diverse roster of players from all across the world and represents the real life players as players item cards.

The developers have EA Sports have decided to remove the Mason Greenwood player items from all active squads and all of the FUT 22 packs. This decision came right after his re-arrest and is likely going to stay put. Players can still find the card in saved Career modes but it cannot be used.
Since the game portrays the real life players, the real life actions also dictate the happenings in the game. The allegations are naturally reflected in this removal by EA and proves their strong stance against crimes committed by the players.
However, the Mason Greenwood FIFA 22 player item still remains active on the FUT market. The case is still ongoing and inquires are being made to further the case in court. Until further notice, the player remains suspended from the world of football in both real life and in games.
