An EA mistake led to FUT Hero packs being sold for cheap

EA Sports may have made the biggest mistake in FUT history by accidentally releasing a tradable Hero Pack costing only 25,000 coins on the FIFA 23 Ultimate Team Store.

This was clearly a mistake as the developers quickly made changes when they removed the pack from the store minutes after it was released at 6pm UK time. Despite their quick action, many players have exploited this mistake to open Hero Packs, receive FUT 23 Hero items, and sell the content on the Transfer Market.

This fiasco led to one of the biggest market moves since the start of FIFA 23, with massive price swings everywhere. The massive influx of FUT Hero items impacted the market in ridiculous ways. These special items are some of the most attractive and coveted cards in the game.

Players could get the tradable cards for as low as 25,000 coins, which definitely meant a heavy impact on the market.  The Hero packs were only available in the FIFA 23 store for a few minutes, but many players were able to take advantage of this EA blunder and sell the cards they pulled from the packs on the transfer market.

As a result, all hero versions were listed all at once, with players bidding on each other to ensure items were sold. Prices for most of these special versions have recovered, but the market for these quality cards is much lower than it was before EA made this mistake.

It spilled over into other areas of the transfer market. The panic selling of goods in a short period of time also affected the price of Gold meta cards, with football players such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappe suffering heavy losses. These items have also recovered from that unfortunate event. EA Sports will need to approach this issue.
