Argentina Predicted to Win the World Cup 2022 by FIFA 23’s Simulator

Argentina has been predicted to defeat Brazil in the World Cup final in FIFA 23

Since more than a decade ago, FIFA video games have apparently correctly anticipated the winners of the World Cup. These include predictions for Spain in 2010, Germany in 2014, and France in 2018.

One of FIFA’s primary elements is an always-updated rating system that indicates how excellent or poor players are in areas like pace, dribbling, and shooting, among other things. FIFA is heavily focused on team and player statistics.

As matches from international tournaments, friendly matches, and league fixtures continue to take place throughout the year, this is updated weekly based on player ratings. It might be simpler than you think for FIFA 23’s AI to simulate matches to estimate the top teams in a tournament of 32 teams, but correctly predicting the champion is quite literally a different ball game.

The team that was picked to win the tournament, Argentina, has been on an unprecedented winning streak. Since 2019, the squad has gone undefeated in all tournaments, and since then, it has won the South American Copa America trophy. However, it is still uncertain whether the game’s simulated outcomes will correctly predict the winner for the fourth time in a row this year.
