FIFA 23: World Cup Will Not Have its Own FUT Mode and Cards Will be Removed After the Event, According to Leaks
There will not be a dedicated FUT World Cup mode in FIFA 23 this year
The popular World Cup mode from 2018 and 2014 won’t be returning this year in FIFA 23, according to FUT Sheriff. Fut Sheriff is a reliable account that has precisely revealed every single promo card and game mode in FIFA for the previous year. Some other reliable sources have leaked this information as well, such as @FUT23News.
No World Cup mode will be available inside FUT. There won’t be a mode, but there will be unique cards and themed content, like a promo, said Sheriff. The World Cup participants will provide players with time limited cards, which will be useable to complete objectives and SBCs based on the tournament.

FIFA 23 World Cup Content Won’t Have a Seperate FUT Game Mode and Will Remove Certain Cards from Players’ Accounts After the Event
Prior editions of the World Cup had various Ultimate Team modes that let players create new teams based on the nations scheduled to be involved in the competition before competing to win the World Cup. The mode was commended for having a low entrance barrier and for giving players the same bundle they purchased in the mode in the main game.
The leaks also imply that during the event, gamers will be able to acquire “time-limited players” through objectives and SBCs. Although this was anticipated, it seems that certain players would be deleted from users’ accounts when the event is over, which has nearly never happened in the history of FUT.
Although World Cup Hero cards will stay in players’ accounts, it appears that the players who are only available through this promotion will be taken out. Marvel and EA recently disclosed plans to work together on a series of unique FUT 23 items that will be made accessible when the game’s free World Cup content debuts later this month. This will feature comic book-style designs of players.

Some World Cup content was actually made available for play earlier this year. In addition to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 content that will be released later this month, EA intends to introduce a FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023 mode in FIFA 23 for the build-up to the competition to create hype.
