FIFA Launches a Line of Qatar World Cup Web 3.0, Blockchain and Mobile Games Following Split With EA Sports
New blockchain games
The 30-year collaboration between EA Sports and FIFA came to an end earlier this year, primarily because the utterly dishonest sports governing body began making outrageous demands for the rights to their brand. FIFA attempted to give the impression as if everything would be okay as EA left the scene. It does not seem that way.
The controversial World Cup in Qatar, which begins this month, has inspired a number of games, according to the football governing body FIFA, which has announced licenses for them. After making pledges that it would use its name licensing elsewhere, the company made the move in response to its split from longtime FIFA game developer EA Sports.

FIFA Reveals New Partnerships Following End of EA Partnership
The FIFA organization has begun to announce a number of new gaming collaborations to coincide with the World Cup Qatar 2022 following a public breakup with Electronic Arts. Because of this, web 3.0 game developers plan to provide a portfolio of innovative future-focused games to entertain and engage a wider variety of people.
The ties, according to a press release on FIFA’s website, indicate an ambition to expand in new digital arenas. There will be a total of four of these gaming integrations, with a focus on blockchain and the Metaverse. The four games are as follows:
- Altered State Machine – AI League: FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Edition
- Uplandme – FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 in the Upland Metaverse
- Matchday – Matchday Challenge: FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Edition
- Phygtl – FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 on Phygtl
Included in the list is the blockchain-based metaverse game Uplandme, for which “FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 in the Upland Metaverse” is being introduced. Players will be able to buy FIFA assets for their Upland residence as well as gather authentic FIFA World Cup digital assets, including famous video highlights of the competition.

FIFA is also launching “FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 on Phygtl” for the platform. Users will be able to “augment a golden-globe-football” and “own a restricted fragment of it to attach and eternalize their handpicked FIFA World Cup photographs and video moments via this method. This will be a “digital representaion of eternal fandom,” according to FIFA.
You can compete against your friends in the “social prediction game based on football cards” known as Matchday Challenge: FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Edition. “Altered State Machine – AI League: FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Edition” is the last game. This enables “input at fun and tactical moments” while watching 4-on-4 AI-controlled football matches. Characters can also be traded and collected.
According to a press release from FIFA, each of these initiatives has been “designed with Web 3.0 and the future of digital engagement in mind.” FIFA Chief Business Officer Romy Gai described the collaborations by saying, “This is a hugely exciting group of partnerships that we’ve entered into as we embrace a new, digitally-native football fan and engage with them in the spaces that we know they are already active within.”
