Fortnite Creative 2.0 UEFN will ban content if creators use other copyrighted IPs

Epic Games recently launched its newest venture for Fortnite, Creative 2.0 (UEFN). Community members can now showcase their skills in creating new maps and add them to the game. Now the first thing that probably came to mind of the community creators is to recreate maps from other games. With the introduction of the famous Call of Duty map Rust into the game, it’s safe to say more and more creators will follow suit. But Epic Games looks set to follow its strict no-copyrighted IP policy.
Epic Games launched Creative 2.0 to unlock the potential of its gaming fraternity. Just like Valve allows CS: GO community members to create and modify new and different maps and game modes, Fortnite seem to have similar idea. By allowing creators to invent and introduce new game modes and maps, Epic Games Fortnite will tap into the potential of a larger creative community.

Fortnite Creative 2.0 to ban Copyrighted IPs
According to updated Epic Games content guidelines, using anyone else’s intellectual property without their consent is in violation of Epic rules. These rules specify that creators can only add original content to Fortnite Creative 2.0 UEFN. It’s possible a lot of creators who submitted their work may already be removed due to new rules.
As previously mentioned, famous Call of Duty map Rust with was added to the game. Rust’s inclusion meant the addition of Desert Domination game mode. Those unfamiliar with it, domination is basically capturing 3 zones and defending them till time runs out.
Another famous map that made heads turn was Grove Street from GTA San Andreas by BEYONDCREATIVE (@BeyondFN). The map pays homage to CJ in the game. Now that epic has put forth strict rules for recreating properties from other IPs, we may not get to see something like this anymore.
Epic also clarified that they will only allow the recreation of the Original Island map in Fortnite Creative 2.0. As the very first remake released was the OG Fortnite map. After the release players got to see how the game has entered into a new era.
How to use UEFN
Before doing anything with the Creative 2.0, users need to download it first. They just simply need to download Unreal engine 5 for Fortnite from Epic games launcher. Then it’s better to watch the tutorials and familiarize yourself with the tools and gimmicks of the creator mode. Understanding the tools is a must in order create good maps and follow the Epic games guidelines.
It will be interesting to see all the newest creation from independent map developers. Although we may not see recreation of famous maps from other gaming studios, the new maps will certainly bring variety into Fortnite.
