Fortnite has added a lot of challenges to keep the Fortnitemares event interactive for all its payers. Some of the challenges are rather spooky, like the Destroy Jack o’ Lanterns With a Ranged Weapon.

Jack o’ Lanterns are unmarked and not shown on the maps which have made this event very hard for players. Jack o’ Lanterns are carved pumpkin lanterns that are found across the map.

All the other players will also be hunting down these lanterns so it’s best if players land early on these Lanterns rich POI and find themselves a ranged weapon.

Step-by-step process to complete Fortnite’s event Destroy Jack o’ Lanterns With a Ranged Weapon

Here is how to complete Destroy Jack o’ Lanterns With a Ranged Weapon challenge in Fortnite

First off, players must land in a POI that will possibly not be crowded with other players, making it easy to find these Jack o’ Lanterns. Synapse Station and Shiny Sound are the two best places to go for such circumstances. Fort Jonesy is also a good choice to complete this challenge. Greasy Grove, tilted towers are POIs with the most number of lanterns but are hot drops so it might be wise to drop here only if players are confident they are faster than the rest.

After choosing their drop, players will need guns and ammunition to destroy these lanterns. The lanterns are placed outside the houses or in the garden or near shops. They are still and do not move, making it is easier to destroy them. Players need not worry about the ranged weapon part, as it is not a sniper rifle exclusive event. Any gun will do; a pistol, an SMG, or an assault rifle, all of these classify as ranged weapons.

Players will be required to destroy 5 such Jack o’ Lanterns to complete this event and once completed, they will be awarded 15000 XP points and a free Spray. However, players must be warned that there have been reports of a glitch in the game where it does not record them destroying these lanterns.

With Fortnitemares coming to an end on November 1st, players must make sure they complete the exclusive challenges as soon as possible.
