Following reports that a Fortnite x Uncharted partnership was in the works ahead of the live-action film’s premiere, Epic Games announced the collaboration this week. Players who completed a riddle this week were rewarded with a video including skins for Nathan Drake and Chloe Frazier from the Uncharted games and the forthcoming film.
The full release plans for these skins have yet to be revealed, and we’ve only seen the wearable skins so far, but once the collab is released, it’s probable that there will be more cosmetics than just these.
Below is the trailer that revealed the Uncharted crossover’s existence. You may visit the page on the Fortnite site to try and crack the code and guess the password if you want to have the experience of solving the challenge yourself, just like other gamers did. Without the quotation marks, it’s “sicparvismagna.”
Uncharted introduced in Fortnite
We’re introduced to the Fortnite versions of Nathan and Chloe, complete with a cinematic flair. These appearances include not only the versions of these characters that will feature in the film – for example, Tom Holland as Nathan Drake – but also as they appeared in the first Uncharted games.
Fortnite hasn’t confirmed all of the plans for these skins’ release, but based on the success of previous skins with alternate looks, we can expect to see movie versions of these cosmetics released, with players being able to unlock alternate video game styles (or vice versa) through challenges or other means.
This collaboration, one would expect, would not be restricted to character skins. Pickaxes, back bling, and other cosmetics are usually seen accompanied high-profile crossovers like this one, so expect to see them alongside these outfits once the collab is fully completed.
With the new Uncharted film coming out in less than a week, expect to see another TV advertisement or two before it hits theatres. In the run-up to the release, things like posters and trailers have been issued, with the film itself set to hit theatres on February 18th.
