Genshin Impact players, remember to circle the dates! The Genshin Impact 4.0 update is coming soon, bringing lots of cool stuff like new things to do, new people to play as, and a fresh area called Fontaine. With that being said, get ready to jump into a world of fun as the release date and time have been officially announced.

The big day for Genshin Impact players is Wednesday, August 16, 2023. This update that everyone’s been waiting for, called “As Light Rain Falls Without Reason,” will bring in the Fontaine area. Basically, it is a place inspired by buildings in France with a cool steampunk style, with robots and machines that run like clocks spread across its land filled with water.

The update introduces new characters to join the Genshin Impact team. The way to Fontaine becomes available for players who have finished Act 3 of the starting Archon Quest, “Song of the Dragon and Freedom.” When this big achievement happens, a special travel point in Sumeru appears, making its way to the Fontaine area. Also, Genshin Impact jumped directly from version 3.8 to 4.0 without having to wait for the 3.9 update.

With the Fontaine area comes the coming of the Hydro Archon, Furina. The region’s attractive look shows water things and detailed French-style patterns. The extra underwater exploring and fighting in the 4.0 update bring in a new part to the gameplay, giving fans something they’ve wanted for a while.

For players all around the world, the Genshin Impact 4.0 update will be ready at different times because of the different time zones. Here’s when you can start playing in some places:

  • United Kingdom: August 16, 4 am BST
  • East Coast US: August 15, 11 pm EDT
  • Central US: August 15, 10 pm CDT
  • West Coast US: August 15, 8 pm PDT
  • Australia: August 16, 1 pm AEST
