Prior to the commencement of 3.0 update’s beta program, the only information regarding Sumeru characters was taken from the game’s manga. The known Sumeru characters were Collei and Cyno in Genshin Impact from the manga and players were glad to know that the former characters is finally becoming playable in the 3.0 update.
The release of Sumeru is highly anticipated by the fans and so is the release of new playable characters which will finally make the Dendro element playable. Leaks regarding these new characters such as Cyno have surfaced that indicate their element and other details.

Everything known about Cyno in Genshin Impact
Cyno in Genshin Impact is one of the initial Sumeru characters that was revealed to the Travelers. Even though he appears in the game’s official manga along with Collei, the upcoming female Dendro bow user, players got a glimpse of his in-game appearance in Teyvat Chapter Storyline Preview.
As it is now confirmed that Collei will become playable in the 3.0 update along with Tighnari and Dori, players are wondering when they can see Cyno in Genshin Impact as a playable character. A recent leak has revealed that he is an Electro polearm user like Raiden Shogun, which was quite unexpected for the fans.
Given his appearance and the badge worn on his waist, he either looks like a Geo or Pyro user. Moreover, some leakers also hinted that he is going to hold the Hydro vision. Proving all these theories and leaks incorrect, he is now stated to use the Electro vision while polearm weapon was depicted in his official art.
The release of Sumeru also implies that players will finally be able to visit the Sumeru Akademiya, which has been mentioned by several playable characters and NPCs either in events or story quests. As Cyno is a scholar from the Akademiya, players can definitely collect some information on the character.
As for the release date of Cyno in Genshin Impact, leakers are not able to give a specific patch but it will most likely happen around the 3.2 update which could also see the release of Nahida (Lesser Lord Kusanali) or the Dendro Archon. As he was the sole Sumeru character to feature in the Teyvat story, it is possible that he could be an important character to the Sumeru Arc.
