It can undoubtedly be said Genshin Impact fans are very creative when it comes to designing a new concept or suggesting the developers with a new feature in the game. A new fanmade design for an old character, Jean has won the hearts of the Reddit community.
Jean is one of the first characters to be launched in the game who first appears in the front of the Traveler when the character has to travel to the Stormterror’s Lair and defeat Dvalin. She is the acting grand master of the Knights of Favonius who was released with a 5-star rarity and Hydro sword combination.

Genshin Impact fan creates character awakening concept for Jean
Jean is a sword Anemo user who can also work effectively as a healer. She is available permanently in the standard banner, therefore, players can obtain her anytime. As she is comparatively an old character, fans have time and again expressed their wish to see buffs in old characters to compete with newly released characters.
A Reddit user named blitzbluu posted a design about how Jean would look if HoYoverse decides to add a character awakening concept for old characters. The awakening concept will apparently maximize the level of powers for Jean and also bring a new outfit for Jean.
Even though the current character ascension system increases the power of the ascended character to a significant amount, the character awakening concept made by the fan made several additional changes to Jean which are quite unique. The user acutely monitored the current ascension system and designed the concept on the following aspects-
- New outfits that represent the awakening
- New voice lines
- Character level increased to 100
- New skills
The concept looks quite similar to HoYoverse’s another title, Honkai Impact 3rd where a character named Valkyrie Accipiter received a huge amount of buff and became a powerful DPS eventually. The fanmade design has earned praises from the fans as they want the developers to introduce a similar character awakening system in Genshin Impact.
As the developers are releasing new characters with recent patches, the viability of old characters with the same element is decreasing. If Genshin Impact developers indeed decide to add the character awakening concept, then players with old characters in their roster would certainly benefit.
