Players who use shield characters as their mains can heave a sigh of relief as the recent Genshin Impact 2.5 update leaks have suggested that the new enemy, Shadowy Husks has been nerfed again which makes them weak against shield units.

Considering the recent trends, MiHoYo might release the 2.5 update within the second week of February. Many leaks regarding the upcoming update have surfaced such as new characters, rerun banners, events as well as the addition of new enemies. After uncovering the new Inazuma region, Enkanomiya, the developers had decided to bring some Spiral Abyss enemies that cannot be defeated easily.

Data miners had previously revealed that a new set of monsters will be added to the Spiral Abyss as well as the Hyakunnin Ikki event that will get a rerun in the 2.5 update. The leaks had informed us that these enemies ignore shield units completely. Shadowy Husks have been divided into three subcategories:

  • Standard Bearer
  • Line Breaker
  • Defender

The latest Genshin Impact 2.5 update leaks given by UBatcha have revealed that these husks have been nerfed against the shield units. Therefore, players who used characters such as Zhongli, Diona, and Noella do not need to worry as they stand a chance against winning the fight with Shadowy Husks. Following changes have been made to the new enemies:

  • Husks will lose HP upon hitting a character with a shield, however, their HP wont be affected if the shield breaks
  • The Pyro Husks’ Shield has been nerfed as they drain rapidly with time
  • The amount of healing the hydro husk receives was also nerfed

UBatcha has also given some stats regarding the attack scale of the Shadowy Husks. Players can look at the graph embedded above to understand that Shadowy Husks won’t be much of an intimidating foe as they can use their shield characters effectively. Previously, these enemies were nerfed against Anemo units.

Players should note from the Genshin Impact 2.5 leaks that Shadowy Husks will always come in groups in Spiral Abyss. Therefore, players should make a strong team composition to defeat them. It has also been revealed that Pyro, Cryo and Hydro Husks have received separate nerfs and attack scales.

  • Hydro Husks: When Hydro Husks attack a shield character, they will sacrifice a part of their HP to create healing ripples that can heal other husks.
  • Cryo Husks: After attacking a shield character, they will lose a portion of their HP to change their weapon stance for a given period of time.
  • Pyro Husks: Pyro Husks will be able to create shields for themselves as well as other husks when their attacks land upon a shield character.
