The last few days in Genshin Impact community saw an uncertainty over the release of next update as there have been numerous rumors flooding the internet regarding the delay of Genshin Impact 2.7 update but a recent report from a reliable website named Kotaku has revealed why the update could release on the scheduled date i.e. after 42 days of the 2.6 update.
HoYoverse has already introduced the new characters that will be seen in the next update putting a rest to the rumors whether Yelan and Kuki Shinobu will actually become playable in the next patch. The only thing remains now is the release date of new patch.

Genshin Impact 2.7 update might be seen on scheduled date
HoYoverse usually releases new content in the game after an interval of 42 days. Every new patch is further divided into two different phases where the character and weapon banner rests. As there had been rumors that Genshin Impact 2.7 update will be the first version to get delayed, a report from Kotaku has revealed that might not be the case.
The delay rumors mainly circulated due to the event schedule of Marvelous Merchandise event, a new event that has replaced the Spices from the West event due to the delay in Serenitea Pot maintenance. This event displayed the end date to be 13th May that is 3 days after the end of Ayaka rerun banner.
Another reason for the delay could be the strict lockdown imposed upon Shanghai in China which is the hub of game development for major gaming companies such as Tencent and HoYoverse. Putting rest to these rumors, Kotaku has stated that Jingtong Zhu, a publishing manager at a Chinese gaming company, told the website that “gaming is not currently being impacted as much as other industries.”
However, this fact cannot be denied that the stringent lockdown has taken a toll on samaritans as procuring food supplies has become a difficult task lately. Regretting this Covid-19 induced lockdown, it is important to note here that Genshin Impact developers are continuing with the Genshin Impact 2.7 update content so that it could be released on May 11, the scheduled date.
Genshin Impact 2.7 update is going to make Yelan and Kuki Shinobu playable and from their leaked gameplay, both of the characters look quite amazing and it can be undoubtedly said that their banners will receive huge sales.
