In a couple of days, Travelers will be able to enjoy the content that have prepared by the developers in the Genshin Impact 2.8 update. The new update is adding a new character, weapon as well as outfits for Diluc and Fischl. After releasing the patch notes, the pre-installation function has been made available by HoYoverse.

Pre-installation function before every patch becomes extremely beneficial for the players as they are able to download the resources beforehand and therefore, save time when the update is released.

Compared to the previous updates, the pre-installation function of the Genshin Impact 2.8 update was slightly delayed. However, players should not worry as there are still two days left to get the new patch and hop into the Golden Apple Archipelago islands. Fortunately, this function is available for both iOS, Android and PC.

While the installation method in mobile phones irrespective of the platform is same, PC users have a different method to follow while downloading the resources beforehand. It is worth mentioning here that Travelers are just downloading a chunk of resources and not the update which is going to release on 13th July.

The Genshin Impact 2.8 update can be pre-installed on Android and iOS devices through two different methods. At the first method, Travelers should head over to the Paimon’s Menu option in the game. Following which they should tap on the settings feature > Other > Pre-Install Resource Package.

A more simple method of downloading the package is that Travelers can begin pre-installing update resources by tapping the “Pre-Install Resource Package” icon in the bottom-left corner of the login screen. Travelers will also be able to know the size of the package and free up the resources accordingly.

PC users must first update the Genshin Impact Launcher. After updating the launcher, a “Game Pre-Installation” button will appear to the left of the “Launch” button. Click “Game Pre-Installation” to download the latest game resources of the Genshin Impact 2.8 update.

It is important to note that mobile users won’t be able to play the game once they start downloading the resources. As a result, they should complete the domains and commissions beforehand. On the other hand, PC users can still enjoy the game.
