The Genshin Impact 2.8 update known as ‘Summer Fantasia’ is finally playable now as the developers have fixed the pertaining issues and rolled out the patch for every device out there. It has also announced in a dedicated post about the new changes that will be seen in this update.

One of the most famous gacha game, Genshin Impact brings out update for its game after every 42 days. Each patch has something new to offer, either a character or a weapon as well as new skins for existing characters.

Everything new in Genshin Impact 2.8 update

A lot of content has been prepared for the Genshin Impact 2.8 update. From the time-limited area called the Golden Apple Archipelago islands to the first male catalyst user in the game, players should look at all the new changes brought in their favorite game.

Golden Apple Archipelago

The limited time area got an overwhelming response when it was released in the 1.6 update. The 2.8 update has decided to bring the area back with some modifications such as new events and a huge castle built upon the center of the island. Players should meet the following requirements to access the area-

  • Reach Adventure Rank 32 or above
  • Complete the Archon Quest “Chapter II: Prologue – Autumn Winds, Scarlet Leaves”
  • Complete Mona’s Story Quest “Astrolabos Chapter: Act I – Beyond This World’s Stars”

New character- Shikanoin Heizou

The first male catalyst user in the game, Shikanoin Heizou who is also a famous detective for the Tenryou commission, is finally being added to the banner of Kazuha and Klee. Heizou has a 4-star rarity and belongs to the Anemo group but his playstyle is quite different from other Anemo characters, making him a must pull.

New weapon

A new 4-star sword named Cursed Blade will be added in the Genshin Impact 2.8 update. When a Normal, Charged, or Plunging Attack hits an opponent, it will whip up a Hewing Gale, dealing AoE DMG equal to 180% of ATK and increasing ATK by 15% for 8s. This effect can be triggered once every 8s. Players can get this sword for free after completing Kazuha’s story quest.

Summertime Odyssey event

The primary event of Genshin Impact 2.8 update is the Summertime Odyssey that takes place in the Golden Apple Archipelago. By completing the specified tasks to the players in this event, players can obtain the event currency to obtain the 4-star Electro character Fischl.

New outfits

Diluc and Fischl skins

Two new alternate skins are going to be added in the game. These skins are available for Diluc and Fischl. Diluc’s skin ‘Red Dead of the Knight’ consists of some special effects which can be noticed during combat, during the 2.8 update period, the skin will be available for purchase at discount. On the other hand, Fischl’s skin can be obtained for free.

New Main Story

Kaedehara Kazuha’s Story Quest: Acer Palmatum Chapter – Act I “A Strange and Friendless Road” will be available permanently starting from the 2.8 update. Players have to reach adventure rank 40 and meet the following requirements-

  • Complete the Archon Quest “Chapter II: Act III – Omnipresence Over Mortals”
  • Complete Raiden Shogun’s Story Quest “Imperatrix Umbrosa Chapter: Act I – Reflections of Mortality”

Hangout event

Shikanoin Heizou, the latest 4-star character’s hangout event will be available in the game starting from the 2.8 update. Players can earn primogems and other rewards from his hangout event. Here are the pre-requisites

Genshin Impact 2.8 update will provide the players with 600 primogems on issue fix and maintenance compensation. Players can summon Kazuha or Klee and other characters in the latest character event wishes.
