Genshin Impact 2.8 update: Phase 1 events announced officially

It is a matter of few hours that we jump to the Genshin Impact 2.8 update which is bringing back the time-limited area, Golden Apple Archipelago. With the current update witnessing its last day, HoYoverse has announced the events that have been prepared for the first phase of the patch which commences tomorrow.

The ‘Summer Fantasia’ update will be available in the game from tomorrow and will be the last update where quests and events focus on Inazuma or the nearby areas as from the 3.0 update, Travelers will hop onto the Dendro nation.

Genshin Impact 2.8 update Phase 1 events

The special program of the upcoming patch already gave us a sneak-peek as to what can be expected from the Genshin Impact 2.8 update. In addition to that, most of the players have already downloaded the resources beforehand to save time when the update gets released. Here is a detailed description of Phase 1 events-

Character Event Wishes

There will be two banners during the first phase of the Genshin Impact 2.8 update where both of the characters are having their rerun. The first banner of Kazuha was a long anticipate banner whereas Klee is an important character in the Golden Apple Archipelago. The 4-star characters are Heizou (new), Thoma and Ningguang and the banner will conclude on 2nd August.

Epitome Invocation

Unfortunately, players won’t be able to wish for a new 5-star weapon at the upcoming banner of Epitome Invocation as the weapons are getting their reruns. The only new weapon this update is the Cursed Blade that can be obtained just after completing Kazuha’s quest. Here are the weapons in the banner-

• Freedom-Sworn
• Lost Prayer to Scared Winds
• The Alley
• Flash
• Mitternachts Waltz

Summertime Odyssey event

The primary event of the new update is the Summer Odyssey event. This event will take place at the Golden Apple Archipelago islands where players have to complete some specified tasks in ‘Surfpiercer’ and ‘Phantom Realms’. Rewards such as Primogems, Hero’s Wit as well as the character Fischl can be obtained from this event.

Resonating Visions event

Another interesting event to look out for in the Genshin Impact 2.8 update is the ‘Resonating Visions’ event where players can get the outfit of Fischl ‘Ein Immernachtstraum’ for free. Players have to reach at least Adventure Rank 32 to take part in the event where they have to collect Phantasmal Conches, an event currency.

Hidden Strife Event

The last event for the first phase is the Hidden Strife Event that commences on 27th July. During this event, Traveler and Paimon will be required to visit Dawn Vinery where they have to complete some challenges that are a threat from the past. This event will provide the players with primogems, hero’s wit and more.

The first phase of Genshin Impact 2.8 update will also add the new outfit for Diluc that has been named as ‘Red Dead of the Knight’. The outfit can be obtained from the game shop with genesis crystals at a discount during the current update duration.
