Genshin Impact Yae Miko nerfs

The 2.6 update has brought a lot of content in Genshin Impact such as Ayato becoming playable as well as the addition of a new area named The Chasm, while these features are getting an overwhelming response, the Yae nerf in the current patch has led players to go furious.

The developers of the anime styled role playing game usually make necessary fixes to a character’s abilities or some minor bug fixes with every new update. While some changes are certainly welcomed by the players, the latest change made by the developers in the 2.6 update has actually nerfed the powers of a character.

Genshin Impact 2.6 changes nerf Yae Miko

The 5-star Electro character Yae Miko is a very popular character in the game, not only because she was acquainted with the Inazuman Electro Archon, Raiden Shogun but fans had high expectations from the elemental abilities of the character. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case as players started using her more as a support character.

What infuriated fans even more that Genshin Impact added some more changes to Yae Miko after receiving feedbacks from the community who highlighted the issue of facing combat issues with the Electro character. The latest changes introduced by the developers focus on the following points

  • Adjustments to the mechanisms by which enemies are targeted.
  • Mass optimization to character enemy selection logic aimed at fixing targeting issues.

The latest change fixes the Elemental Skill: Sesshou Sakura of Yae Miko. Yae Miko’s elemental skill allowed her to create 3 Sesshou Sakuras on the field by dashing forward among the enemies, however, the target of the enemies could not be controlled by the players which made her underwhelming.

The new change in Yae Miko now prioritizes attack on the nearest opponents within range after the fix. However, many players have pointed out that this change actually decreases the power of Yae Miko which makes her nearly unplayable. These following points have been pointed out by a fan-

Yae Miko
  • Removes spread of electro DMG, making her much worse in electro charged teams
  • If the closest targetable enemy is a shielder, her DPS drops to 0
  • Yae no longer picks off ranged enemies which was one of her greatest strengths

Players who pulled for Yae Miko in Genshin Impact have been furious on the developers for introducing this change. It would be intriguing to see whether HoYoverse responds to the community on this issue. Meanwhile, the 2.7 update is bringing two new characters.
