How to pre-install Genshin Impact 2.7 update on Android and PC, step-by-step guide

It’s a matter of few days that players will be able to see the character banner of Yelan, a new character and Xiao who is getting his second rerun as Genshin Impact 2.7 update is scheduled to release on May 31st. In addition to that, the developers have made the pre-installation function available for this patch earlier today.

After a delay of almost 3 weeks, HoYoverse is preparing the Travelers to enjoy the new content prepared in their game. The Chasm is once again to be the central focus in this update as the Traveler, along with Yelan and other characters will take a quest to unravel the mysteries surrounding the lost Yaksha.

Genshin Impact 2.7 update pre-installation guide

The pre-installation function released before every update proves to be very advantageous to the players who wish to speed up the download process when the update is available officially. By pre-installing the update, players won’t be getting the whole update before the release but they will be able to download a part of resources.

Genshin Impact players who play the role-playing game in their mobiles should note that once they download the pre-installation package, they won’t be be able to play the game anymore until Genshin Impact 2.7 update releases. The resources usually take up a lot of time to download so it is recommended that players should use a Wi-Fi connection.

Players can also remove the audio files that aren’t needed before download the package. For removing the audio files players can follow this procedure, Settings > Language > Manage Voice-Over Files to minimize the pre-installation file size. The step-by-step guide for pre-installing the Genshin Impact 2.7 update is-

Android & iOS

• STEP 1: Open Genshin Impact and click on settings, the option which is present in the top right corner of the screen.
• STEP 2: Head over to the ‘Other’ section and click on Pre-Install resource package to download the resources and speed up your download process.

The pre-installation package requires a storage of 6.76 GB. Therefore, players should make sure to have enough storage on their iOS and Android devices.

Android and iOS users can also download the package by opening the game and clicking on the cloud shaped icon present in the below right corner when they open the game.

PC

After the pre-installation function is available, players should first update the Genshin Impact Launcher. After updating the launcher, a “Game Pre-Installation” button will appear to the left of the “Launch” button. Click “Game Pre-Installation” to download the latest game resources.

PC users will still be able to play the game as the resources of Genshin Impact 2.7 update will be downloaded in the background. The update is scheduled for 31st May, therefore, Travelers can save a lot of downloading time if they enable the pre-installation package.
