The Genshin Impact 2.8 update primarily focuses on the Golden Apple Archipelago islands which is a time-limited area with its own quest and events. As players are certain to get primogem rewards as well as the character of Fischl for free, it is important to unlock this area and complete the required missions.
Most of the Travelers would agree to the fact their journey becomes quite hectic completing Archon or Story Quests where they have to defeat enemies frequently. In order to provide a short break to the travelers, the developers have brought back the time-limited area.

Most of the new players might be ardently waiting to try out this new area which has its own domains and a new story to offer on its characters like Kazuha, Mona, Xinyan and Fischl. The new quest with some interesting waverider challenges can help the players to obtain Fischl for free as well as primogems.
For unlocking the Golden Apple Archipelago islands in the Genshin Impact 2.8 update, players should meet the following requirements in the game-
- Adventure Rank 32 or above
- Complete the Archon Quest ‘Autumn Winds, Scarlet Leaves’
- Complete Mona’s story quest ‘Astrolabos Chapter: Act I – Beyond This World’s Stars’
Players can unlock the introductory part of the Archipelago quest in Genshin Impact 2.8 update which is named as ‘The Golden Apple Vacation Returns!’ by meeting the first two criteria only. The introductory phase will then require the Traveler and Paimon to visit the Angel Share Tavern at Monstadt where they will meet Venti, Kazuha and Xinyan.
After exchanging a series of conversation, players will meet Mona and Fischl in front of the city gates, then walk to the waypoint placed near the city gates which will transport them to the Golden Apple Archipelago islands. They can summon waveriders in different points of the islands to unlock all the islands in the Genshin Impact 2.8 update.
The island quest is quite easy as players have to engage in some dialogues and explore other islands with Kazuha. They will also be required to communicate with Venti through a device, then players can start opening the exclusive chests of this island and phantasmal conches that are important for the Resonating Visions event.
Players should note that the Golden Apple Archipelago islands is available for the ongoing update only and players won’t be able to explore the area anymore once the update ends.
