Genshin Impact Sumeru patches to be reduced by a week
Veteran players might be aware that the 2.6 update of Genshin Impact was extended for 62 days when the game development hub was recuperating with the exceeding Covid-19 cases in China. It was one of the first patches to be extended for such a long time which had players convinced that some future updates might be reduced in the aspect of their duration.
True to the prediction, HoYoverse has decided to shorten the duration of 3.0, 3.1 and 3.2 patches which are going to bring the initial content for Sumeru, the fourth nation of Teyvat. While the release date of Genshin Impact 3.0 update is confirmed on 24th August, rest of the release dates are changed which are mentioned below-
- Version 3.1 – expected to be updated on September 28, 2022
- Version 3.2 – expected to be updated on November 2, 2022
- Version 3.3 – expected to be updated on December 7, 2022

The developers might also consider changing the above release dates but this is just a rough estimate provided to the players regarding the upcoming Sumeru patches. Contradicting to the current patches, the 3.0-3.2 update will last for 5 weeks (35 days). However, players should note that the banner phases will be the same as current update.
It has also been mentioned that the Battle Pass system in the game will undergo some changes. The shortened updates imply that the experience level of Battle Pass will be reduced to 900 instead of the original 1000 so that the players can reach the highest rank within the given time and obtain rewards.
Even if the updates are getting shortened, players should not worry of getting less time for collecting primogems as HoYoverse will plan the events as well as their rewards accordingly.
