Is Genshin Impact 2.7 update getting delayed?

Travelers are looking forward to the second phase of Genshin Impact 2.6 update which will bring the Ayaka rerun banner as well as new events. Following this update, the wait for Yelan and Kuki Shinobu in Genshin Impact 2.7 update remains equally exciting but some recent claims and speculations made by fans through official evidences that the next patch could be delayed.

HoYoverse brings a lot of engaging content for their Travelers with each update. From new characters to new areas and enemies, each update has something exciting to offer which is why players have been hyped for the Genshin Impact 2.7 update.

Genshin Impact 2.7 update might be delayed

The developers of the anime-styled role playing game usually push out updates within a span of 42 days where each update is divided into two phases. Under these two phases, players will find new characters or rerun character banners along with events and weapons. As HoYoverse follows the trend of 42 days in each update, most of the players are able to figure out the release date of new update.

It was speculated that Genshin Impact 2.7 update will be available on 11th May since Ayaka rerun banner is also concluding a day before. However, a recent post made by Genshin Impact in the HoYoLAB community suggests something else. It reveals that a new event named Marvelous Merchandise will be available after the Ley Line Overflow Event.

This new event will apparently run till 13th May, three days after Ayaka rerun banner is concluded. This indicates to the fact that the Genshin Impact 2.7 update has been delayed. Another instance to be considered for this postponement is that the Covid-19 cases has compelled China to impose lockdown again in cities like Shanghai where most of the game development took place.

Another event named Spices from the West has either been cancelled or pushed back to the 2.7 update since the maintenance of Serenitea Pot is yet to conclude. To provide access to the Serenitea Pot function in Genshin Impact 2.7 update, the developers might try to delay the update.

Nonetheless, these are just speculations and players should wait for the official announcement as the official Twitter handle of Genshin Impact has not mentioned the Marvelous Merchandise event as of now. If the Genshin Impact 2.7 update does get delayed, players might be given some free primogems.
