Is Genshin Impact teasing a new element in the 2.5 update?

The developers of Genshin Impact are known for adding interesting features in the game that sets the game apart from other equally popular role-playing games. While some new features gets revealed prior to the announcement made by the developers, some aspects are kept a mystery until the very end. HoYoverse was successful in shrouding the face of Kamisato Ayato for a long period of time which led fans to make several fanarts. As his face was finally revealed before the 2.5 special program, players are now speculating the release of a new element.

Will Genshin Impact release a new element?

Genshin Impact has a total of 7 elements in the game out of which six have been released in the game and the last one that is Dendro is rumored to be released around the end of 2022. The rest of the elements are used by the characters as well as the Traveler who use their powers through strong elemental reactions.

The developers had recently rolled out the 2.5 version, “When the Sakura Bloom” where the Electro character, Yae Miko and a new event, “Three Realms of Gateway Offering” greeted the players. This event required the players to explore the dark region of Enkanomiya and introduced new materials such as Bokuso Box and Light Realm Sigils.

A Genshin Impact fan has speculated that the developers might be hinting towards the release of a new element through the Light Realm Sigils which are the redemption items in the new event. These sigils can be found in the chests in Enkanomiya and bear an uncanny resemblance with Anemo, Electro and Geo Sigils in the game.

This has led fans to believe that HoYoverse might be adding a Light element in the game. Considering the fact that MiHoYo’s another title, Honkai Impact has the ‘Quantam’ and ‘Imaginary’ type theme, Genshin Impact might be adding Light and Dark themed elements.

Previously some players believed that the mysterious character Dainsleif who is set to make an appearance in the 2.6 update will become playable with a new element. Is that linked to the Light Realm Sigil, players should wait for further leaks by data miners. As of now, it is only known that the Dendro element might be released with the Sumeru region towards the end of 2022.
