Genshin Impact Leak: Update 2.5 will include anti-shield monsters to weaken shield units
With the addition of a new anti-shield monster type, the Genshin Impact meta will be drastically altered. According to rumours around version 2.5, shield characters will be useless against the incoming Shadowy Husk creatures.
Although the upcoming update in miHoYo’s action-RPG is supposed to be a filler, gamers in the Spiral Abyss should expect some major changes in the use of shield characters.
The Shadowy Husk is a brand-new opponent type with the following sub-types:
- Standard Bearer
- Line Breaker
- Defender
These Shadowy Husks have a variety of offensive powers, but they all seem to have a dislike for shield characters. They build shields for themselves or heal neighbouring Shadowy Husks when they attack a shield.
This means that metacharacters such as Zhongli, Thoma, Diona, and Yun Jin, among others, will be unable to protect adjacent party members from Shadowy Husk foes. Players will have to either use healers to replace them or rely completely on their damage dealers.

In Genshin Impact version 2.5, Shadowy Husk is a Line Breaker
Surprisingly, the Shadowy Husks leaks have emerged before the Zhongli re-run banner in version 2.4. The Geo Archon has defined the meta by providing indestructible shields since his release.
Zhongli and Ganyu re-run banners will be accessible in the second phase of the 2.4 upgrades. Fans have flocked to these five-star heroes for their support and damage-dealing abilities.
Players have been using Zhongli’s shields to complete end-game stuff in Genshin Impact, such as Spiral Abyss, for months. The five-star Geo polearm user is practically worthless on certain floors of the Spiral Abyss now that Shadowy Husks have been added to the enemy pool.
The developers are concentrating their efforts on healers and support characters right now. Corrosion was first introduced as a Ley Line illness and a status effect in version 2.1. Only healers can counteract the effect that Rifthounds can have on players.
