As mentioned by the NPC Liben, Sumeru is all about rainforests and deserts and a certain kind of ‘ominous aura’ lingers around the nation. Although, players are yet to encounter this ominous phenomenon as right now, there are only six explorable areas in Sumeru which are mentioned below-
- Ardravi Valley
- Lokapala Jungle
- Ashavan Realm
- Avidya Forest
- Vanarana
- Vissudha Field
The kind of environment shown in Sumeru right now is quite similar to the ones experienced in Monstadt or Liyue but Sumeru’s desert is going to a different atmosphere altogether, making players ardently wait for its release. With the beta test going on, prominent data miners have given the community some fresh Genshin Impact 3.1 leaks.
The latest leak shows Sumeru’s desert map hinting on its release in the 3.1 update which clashes with the second anniversary of Genshin Impact. It is, however, important to note that a lot of Sumeru map is yet to be unlocked which implies that it will get unlocked eventually in upcoming patches.

As shown in the Genshin Impact 3.1 leaks, Sumeru’s desert consists of three primary areas as of now but more might be added after the 3.1 update. The primary areas are mentioned below-
- The Downwind Erosion
- The Windward Erosion
- Sandplain Colonnade
The area seems to be a large structure where players might get to see a new domain as well as a new enemy, although these are just speculations right now. Some other Genshin Impact 3.1 leaks indicate on a different loading screen when players will enter the deserts which suggests that Sumeru’s rainforest area and desert area will be distinct from each other.
A sneak-peek of the desert area was also provided during the introduction of Sumeru and that certainly has increased the hype among the players. New enemies like Eremites might also be seen in this area, although, a lot of information is yet to be known about them.
