Genshin Impact Tester Reportedly Fined $78,000 for Leaking Footage of Beta Gameplay

Genshin Impact 2.4 update: Windtrace and all Daily Login event release dates
With a player base that is rising by the day, Genshin Impact has taken the gaming industry by storm. Unlike most open-world games, Genshin Impact’s frequent updates continue to keep feeling fresh by creating a constant degree of anticipation for new content.

When it comes to Genshin Impact, leaks and rumours are steadily becoming a part of the gameplay experience. The popular Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit has amassed over 170k subscribers.
Each Genshin Impact update has a beta period, which normally begins when the previous patch is released. The 2.5 beta phase began on the same day that the Genshin Impact update 2.4 was released. The beta usually comprises the majority of the content that players will encounter when the update goes live.

Where did it all go wrong for the Genshin Impact Leaker?

However, a reputable leaker just revealed that a beta tester was penalised $78.000 for leaking footage from the current 2.5 beta phase, according to a recent tweet. MiHoYo was able to trace down the account when one of the breaches revealed his UID (Unique Identifier).
Even though miHoYo appears to be opposed to their content being leaked before their official release, it’s safe to state that the leaks have several benefits. They aid in the creation of a lot of excitement for new characters, even months before they are added to the playable roster.
One of the biggest examples of this is the popular character Raiden Shogun, who, even though there was almost little public information about her when the banners hit the live servers, still maintains the record for being the most pulled character in the game.
The same can be said for Yae Miko, the recently unveiled character who has been officially confirmed for version 2.5 after being leaked multiple times in recent months. Developer miHoYo has started a new trend of unveiling new characters even before the beta is released.
Presumably, since they will be leaked anyhow on the first day. Yae Miko has been one of the most popular characters in all of Genshin Impact since her entrance in two update previews, so the current buzz surrounding her is unsurprising.
