Genshin Impact pity system explained
The term ‘pity’ is of course different in the world of this anime-styled role-playing game. It basically lets the players know when they are guaranteed to get the 5-star characters which are otherwise rare to obtain the game. First of players, players should have a look at the banners present in the game-
- Character Event Wishes
- Standard Banner
- Weapon banner (Epitome Invocation)
Hard Pity
While 4-star characters are guaranteed after players pull 10 wishes on different banners, the guaranteed 5-star pull can only be claimed after spending a number of wishes in the banner. Under the Hard Pity system in Genshin Impact, players are guaranteed to get their preferred character after reaching 90 wishes in the character event wish.

It is important to note that character event wishes are time-limited and are rest after every 21 days. Standard banners are permanent and characters are obtained in random. In weapon banner, players are guaranteed to get 5-star weapon after 80 wishes.
Soft Pity
The soft pity system in Genshin Impact is however, uncertain as it is fan made and the developers are yet to confirm it official. Under this pity system, players can get their desired character after 70-79 wishes. On the other hand, players are more or less guaranteed to get a special weapon 60-69 wishes.

The pity system in Genshin Impact is quite beneficial for the players who do not wish to spend money in the game. The number of wishes left for the guaranteed character will help the players to know the number of primogems they need to save.
