The official news of the 2.7 update getting delayed has reached to the account of almost every Traveler in Genshin Impact. These has led to speculations that there might be an additional character in the Genshin Impact 2.6 update which brought the banner of Kamisato Ayato, Venti and Ayaka in respective chronological order.
Even though the announcement of the patch getting delayed for an undisclosed interval has left the fans disappointed, fans seem to be it taking it more sportingly as the Covid-19 situation in China looks very dreadful.

New character banner in Genshin Impact 2.6 update?
With the current pandemic situation in China and other countries, Genshin Impact 2.7 update became the first patch to get delayed. The confusion regarding the announcement of special program and release date of next update finally got cleared when an official statement about the update was issued.
The release date as well as the special program date of the next patch is currently unknown and leakers are just making speculations right now. The content of the update which is going to bring Yelan and Kuki Shinobu is currently under progress, as announced by the developers.
As Ayaka banner leaves the Genshin Impact 2.6 update on May 11th, there have been several speculations among the fans that perhaps, a new character banner will be released before Yelan. The character banner will of course be a rerun of a certain character, however, a reliable leaker has informed in negative.
As mentioned by Uncle Y, Genshin Impact 2.6 update will not feature any other character rerun and Ayaka will leave the game on its scheduled date. Players should, therefore, wait for the next banners in the game which will be released in the 2.7 update.
What is the next Genshin Impact banner?
The next banner after Genshin Impact 2.6 update features Yelan and Xiao. Yelan is an upcoming 5-star character who uses the Hydro element. She will feature alongside Xiao, a 5-star Anemo character. Xiao got an early rerun in the next update as he is going to be the main focus of a quest in the next update.
