Zack ‘Asmongold’ has been facing backlash on the internet for streaming with friends who indirectly hurled insults at homose*ual people. The clip of his Twitch livestream has gone viral on the subreddit r/livestreamfails as fans have highlighted some of the past incidents of Asmon’s friends and the hypocritical nature of the streamer.

The OTK (One True King) co-founder was streaming and playing World of Warcraft on his secondary Twitch channel, when one of the viewers wrote ‘Who’s the Mexican’? on the chat section, alluding to Cody, who was standing behind the content creator during the livestream. On hearing this, Cody hilariously claimed that he wishes to know who asked this, so that he can ban him from the chat.

Cody also stated that people shouldn’t just assume that they’re Mexicans. Moments later, another friend of Asmongold, named Jeff stated, “Cody’s a homose*ual, not a Mexican”, indirectly using the word homose*ual as an insult, which hurt the sentiments of several people.

When the streamer realized this he mocked at his friend by saying, “Jeff you’re trying to get me banned”, leaving his friends laughing at the situation, but it was clear that Asmon was able to avoid a ban on the platform. He explained further that his friend Jeff has been banned on more platforms than Andrew Tate.

As the clip was shared on Reddit, one of the Redditors claimed that Asmon’s friend Cody is actually a woman beater. This led several users to bring up the ongoing situation of One True King, where Rich Campbell was recently asked to resign after being accused of harassment by fellow streamer.

Asmongold’s friend Cody spent some years in jail for beating up and assaulting a woman, and fans were surprised to see that the streamer decided to have such friends on his livestream. Most of them called him a hypocrite as he does not follow the principles laid out by him for other accused people, when it comes to his friends.

One of the users wrote, “I will never understand why Asmon is perceived as the mature OTK member. What reason would a multimillionaire have to still surround himself with these types of people”, implying that there is no reason for the streamer to associate himself with those who have been convicted on some serious grounds.

Another Redditor claimed that the World of Warcraft content creator has always been at the forefront to call out other personalities whenever a new controversy starts in the community, but when it comes to his friends, he becomes a total hypocrite.

This call out comes after Asmongold was criticized by people for wishing that Warzone streamer Nadia should be permanently banned from Twitch for doxxing a viewer. Most of the users explained that as a streamer, he should not urge something like this for another partnered streamer.
