The Riot ID serves as your login for all Riot Games. Your League of Legends or Legends of Runeterra account and your Valorant account are connected by this. It’s to be distinguished from the Login ID, which enables you to access your own account. When you create your Riot Account with your Email ID, Riot Games generate your Riot ID.

Your Riot ID consists of your in-game name (IGN), which is visible to everyone while you play the game; and a hashtag followed by a tag consisting of 3 to 5 alphabets or numbers. It will look like this: Your IGN #[Tag]. If you already play any Riot’s game let’s suppose League of Legends and you decide to play Valorant. Thanks to Riot ID, your League of Legends account name will automatically be your in-game name.

Finding your Riot ID is not a very hefty task, it’s quite simple. You cannot see the Riot ID of anyone while playing the game. follow these steps to see your Riot ID in Valorant:

  • Open Valorant and let the game load.
  • After getting to the home screen, you will see a sidebar on the extreme right side of your screen. This sidebar shows all your online and offline friends.
  • Now click on this sidebar. It will enlarge after clicking.
  • On the top of your friend list, you will see your In-game name.
  • Hover your cursor on your name it will show you your Riot ID.

Riot ID helps you to add friends in Valorant. So make sure while asking your friend’s IGN, you should also ask for his Riot ID tag. If Riot Games generates a tag that you don’t like or you just want to change your username in Valorant in general, here’s how you can change it:

  • Visit the official Riot Games website and log into your Riot Games Account.
  • After logging in, go to the Riot Account Management page.
  • There, you’ll see a Riot ID menu. Open this menu.
  • Now edit your Riot ID and Tagline and click on save changes.

Note that you cannot change your Riot ID or tag for the next 30 days so make sure you pick a good ID.
