Call of Duty: Warzone 2, the Activision battle royale, is now live globally. However, gamers have been reporting the same bizarre glitch that prevented them from joining friends into their lobby in Modern Warfare 2 Season 1.
Other bugs exist as well, but given that this is a fresh version, that is to be expected. The issues should be resolved as soon as possible. The problem is annoying though, because there isn’t an official solution yet. Players must come up with workarounds in order to queue for games and be in the same lobby as their buddies.
Steps to Fix the ‘Invite Friends’ Error in Call of Duty: Warzone 2
The game’s “Social” menu is currently not functioning as planned. You may see your friends’ current status here such as “In a Game” or “Online,” which will indicate whether you can join their lobbies or not.
If everything were in order, you could invite or join friends in the Social menu by selecting them from either Activision friends or friends on your platform. However, at the moment, players who attempt to join through the “Friends” option are being returned to the home page.
How to fix the issue:
- Press the “Channels” button, which is in the top right corner of the Warzone 2 main menu and has a symbol that resembles a pair of headphones.
- Click “Create your own channel,” give it a name, and then click “Save.”
- You can now send invitations to up to four friends who you want to join your lobby. In order to join your Warzone 2 lobby, the invited friends must accept a notification that appears in their game.

The game can only presently be played with friends using the previously mentioned steps. The problem has been acknowledged, and a patch is being developed by Infinity Ward.
