It’s the first time in the history of esports for India, that the Indian DOTA 2 team win the bronze medal after defeating New Zealand in the 3rd place match. The men in blue started their journey by defeating Wales by a 60-15 score, to the semi-semifinal where they faced defeat from Malaysia.

If you don’t know the Global Esports Federation partnership with Commonwealth Esports Championship 2022 and in support from British Esports Association, the multi-nation tournament is hosted. Three esports titles are involved: DOTA 2, Rocket League, and football, in which India participated in the first two titles DOTA 2 and Rocket League. But with an unfortunate performance by the Rocket League team, they couldn’t qualify for Playoffs.

The Indian DOTA 2 team superstars  Moin Ejaz, Ketan Goyal, Abhishek Yadav, Shubhnam Goli, and Vishal Vernekar. Face against the New Zealand team for the Bronze medal in a best of three battle. In which the Indian DOTA 2 team outshines in both the matches and clean sweeps the series by 2-0.

Match 1

Radiant (India) – Death Prophet, Earthshaker, Juggernaut, Ember Spirit, and Grimstroke.

Dire (New Zealand) – Spectre, Abaddon, Zeus, Marci, and Pudge.

In match 1 with a strong start from the Indian side, they dominated the whole match and didn’t give chance to the New Zealand side the come back to the game and lost by a 38-11 scoreline. The main characters who performed outstandingly were Ember Spirit and Grimstroke.

Match 2

Radiant (India) – Razor, Phantom Assassin, Puck, Marci, and Tusk.

Dire (India) – Juggernaut, Dragon Knight, Treant Protector, Windranger, and Beastmaster.

Match 2 was just not like match 1, this time New Zealand’s side kept India under control, but in the end, they losses their sights in the end game and lost against them. India started with a slow start and Phantom Assassin was assigned a task to just farm and slowly build a net worth lead. However, the New Zealand keep their pressure on the Indian side grab lots of kills, At the score of 50-50 India secure the mega creeps and after that, they also broke New Zealand’s final defense, and claimed their bronze medal in the end.
