Recently Google’s Play Store and Apple’s App Store removed BattleGrounds Mobile India popularly known as BGMI from India. Google also issued the list of 50 other applications being removed from the Play Store after being infected with the Joker Malware. Let’s take a look at is the infamous Joker malware the reason behind the BGMI ban in India.

The Joker malware has recently resurfaced back in April and again in July this year. Google has recently removed 50 more apps from the Play Store as it said that they were infected by the Joker malware. Google has advised users to uninstall the suspected apps from their respective devices.

After the ban of these apps today the BGMI is also removed from Google’s Play Store and Apple’s App Store recently. The BGMI app was removed from the app stores this Thursday evening. Krafton also responded on this by acknowledging it and said they are seeking clarifications on this from Google and Apple upon delisting of BGMI.

The Joker malware surfaced back in July 2022 and has infected many applications on the Google Play Store. Due to this malware, Google previously removed over 1200 applications back in January 2020. It can be possible that Joker malware be the reason behind the removal of BGMI in India.

BattleGrounds Mobile India is yet to complete it first anniversary on Apple App Store as it was available for iOS devices on 18th August last year. Although it recently completed its 1st year anniversary on the Google Play Store. However, the game servers are still up and it is playable on Android and iOS phones for those who had already downloaded the game on their devices.
