Marvel’s Spiderman-man is PlayStation 5 exclusive

Sadly, Spider-Man fans on other platforms won’t be able to play Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 at launch because it is confirmed to be a PS5 exclusive. It goes without saying that those using the PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC will be disappointed by this. The PlayStation 5 is a much more powerful device than the PlayStation 4.

So PS5 owners should be happy that Insomniac decided to push the limits of what is currently possible. Just in time to experience the next chapter in Peter Parker’s story, it might become as accessible as the Nintendo Switch in a few months, and there’s no better way than with hardware that can maximise its presentation and artistic style.

Ryan Schneider, the head of studio relations and franchise strategy at Insomniac, discussed the decision to exclusively develop Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for the PS5 at the time. Calling it “very exciting” to be able to “push the capabilities of the console.” Looking back, it was a wise choice because New York has never looked better in a Spider-Man game. Callum praised it in our review, saying that the PS5’s SSD power allowed for “superbly fast” loading times.

Can fans expect a downgrade launch?

The original Marvel Spider-Man game did eventually make the transition to the PC shortly after its PS4 and PS5 releases. however, it is highly unlikely that Spider-Man 2 will debut on PS4. Also, there isn’t any space for a last-gen downgrade because the game is focused on optimising every PS5-specific tech.

The PlayStation 5 has been available for purchase for two years, but eventually, the outdated technology must give way to the updated version. The PS5 should take the lead going forward, and God of War: Ragnarok’s shortcomings demonstrate that this needs to happen. Stay Tuned for more updates on the latest games and updates.
