IShowSpeed has declared his love for football multiple times on his streams. He has also made it no secret that Speed idolises Cristiano Ronaldo, accompanied by a hate for his career rival, Lionel Mess. FIFA recently announced the “FIFA Best Awards”, where Lionel Messi won the FIFA The Best Men’s Player Award for 2023. As expected, IShowSpeed was not pleased with his news.
When Cristiano Ronaldo was not nominated for the Ballon d’Or 2023, IShowSpeed travelled to the ceremony to support Erling Haaland, Messi’s main competitor for the award. A similar incident has now occurred where Lionel Messi narrowly beat both Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe for the award.
IShowSpeed searched for the results of this year’s awards and found that Lionel Messi had won. Speed is speechless when Messi’s name pops up on his screen. He makes a flabbergasted look and looks at his chat in confusion. He said, “Bro, are you f*cking serious?”
IShowSpeed flips out after Lionel Messi wins FIFA The Best Men’s Player Award 2023
IShowSpeed was reading out the search result announcing Messi winning the FIFA The Best Men’s Award 2023. Midway through reading out the result, IShowSpeed takes off his headphones and throws them to the side. He looks at the screen with confusion and disgust. He then loudly screamed, “What the f*ck! How?! How?!” as he got up from his chair and started pacing around the room.
What the f*ck? How? Haaland had 255 goals last year. Messi had 43 goals last year. How?

Speed starts comparing the statistics between the two players. He proclaimed that Haaland had 255 goals over the past year, with Messi coming in at 43. These stats are, of course, highly exaggerated by the Ohio native. In reality, Haaland had 50 goals over the past year, with Messi clocking in a 40 G/A. While the YouTuber probably does not intend any ill-will towards the Argentian, it is hilarious to see him flip out after finding out his role model failed to bag the prestigious award.
Fans of both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi were highly amused to see Speed’s hilarious reaction to the award ceremony. They are also pointing out how he is jumping to Haaland’s defence after meeting him only once by highly exaggerating his stats.
