The Israel-Palestine conflict has caused great political turmoil, with significant losses of life on both sides. The conflict has everybody up in arms, raising awareness and taking action for what they believe is right. Pokimane is no exception to this humanitarian crisis. 

The famous Twitch streamer posted an Instagram story about her decision to boycott major fast-food companies such as McDonald’s and Starbucks. She says the decision comes from the reluctance of such chains to take a stance about the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict.

This comes as a surprise, as not too long ago, Pokimane had encouraged her viewers to try a new matcha drink at Starbucks. However, because these companies do not support a ceasefire, she has asked her fans not to support such businesses. 

Pokimane asks fans to distance themselves from Starbucks, McDonald’s

Pokimane shared an Instagram post made by another account on her story. The post mentioned that numerous children had lost their lives due to the conflict. Huge corporations will come out to support a ceasefire. Additionally, it mentioned:

In the past 23 days, Israel has killed more children in Gaza than have been killed in any world conflict in each of the last 4 years.

The streamer added her thoughts with the caption: 

A lot of y'all still get the Starbucks drink I recommended, but I'm boycotting them, McDonald's and any other company that isn't in clear support of ceasefire.

Many internet users have commented on her reaction. They believe that not everyone should be forced to make their stance clear on such a sensitive issue. Others favor Pokimane and advocate for more conversation about the issue. 

Pokimane’s advocacy and vocalization of issues she is passionate about are not unheard of, with her protests even becoming successful in many cases. Pokimane recently spoke out against the prevalence of gambling content on streaming platforms such as Twitch. Despite causing a beef with xQc, she succeeded as the platform decided to de-platform unlicensed gambling websites.
