Ludwig purposedly fell victim to show how the scam functions
Popular YouTuber and streamer Ludwig Ahgren has just exposed a scam being run on TikTok in his latest video. The scam involves fake profiles of famous influencers, being used to lure people into making various online purchases in exchange for certain rewards, which the victims never receive.
The YouTuber purposely fell victim to the scam to show his viewers how it functions, and prevent his viewers from falling victim to it. He blamed TikTok’s poor moderation for allowing such scamsters on their platform.

Ludwig explains how TikTok’s poor moderation allowed scam to run
In a recent video on his second channel, Mogul Mail, Ludwig has exposed a scam running rampant on the short-form video platform TikTok. In the video, he demonstrated the scam’s modus operandi by intentionally falling for it and pointed out why TikTok itself is at fault for the scam being allowed to run.
The streamer showed how an account with a verified checkmark was pretending to be the official account of retired adult actress Lana Rhoades and was simply reposting any videos’ most liked comment in their comment section. On opening, the account would seem to be private. Ludwig shows that after being accepted when followed, all the posts ask you to “Read the caption” and to DM the account.
Ludwig then revealed that on DMing, you would receive a link, which would lead to a scammy website. The scam would then give you a list of possible “rewards” which you could win after answering a questionnaire, giving the site your email and completing any of the purchases required by the site.
Ludwig showed how the site won’t give any reward by making the purchase and hit back at TikTok’s moderation team, he went on to show that the actress’s actual account existed and was unverified, he explained-
"Someone just stole it, got more popular than herand also got verified! Which is the whole point of verification!"
He exclaimed how Tiktok’s “moderation just sucks! It is so bad!”, aggravated by the platform’s poor handling of their verification process and their whole moderation team overlooking this major scam.
Ludwig also commented on how he feels TikTok’s content algorithm is very harmful as well, saying how it “creates a bubble” around the user which gets incredibly hard to escape for them, as on TikTok, the content comes to the user automatically rather than being searched by them on their own accord.
