As ItsSliker was accused of borrowing money from his viewers and scamming them with a false promise of returning the money, several high profile streamers came out to start a mass campaign against Twitch, claiming that the platform should also do its part by banning gambling on Twitch altogether.

Pokimane, Mizkif and Ludwig were one of the few renowned streamers to take this initiative. Ludwig Ahgren even went to the extent of offering to help the victims by paying back their money with the help of Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel. As the mass campaign gained momentum, Twitch finally offered an update on the gambling situation on the platform.

"We'll be making a policy update on 18th October to prohibit streaming of gambling sites that include slots, roulette, or dice games that aren't licensed in the U.S. or other jurisdictions that provide sufficient consumer protection."

While it is certain that gambling streams will be prohibited from October 18th, Twitch has mentioned the name of only a few websites that won’t be allowed on livestreams, such as Stake, Rollbit, Duelbit and Roobet, to name a few.

However, not everybody was pleased with this decision. Streamers such as Adin Ross expressed their discontentment, stating that they could watch s*xual content on Twitch but not gambling.

Some fans were seen asking the platform to ban ASMR or hot tub streams that were made popular by Amouranth and others. While the Amazon-owned streaming platform was called out for not banning gambling as it brought revenue, it would be intriguing to see if they work on ASMR streams.
