“You have no idea how severely depressed I am”: Mizkif talks about his depression on Twitch stream

Internet personalities and celebrities always have to maintain a certain image in front of their viewers and audience. But sometimes, when they are at their limit, even these celebrities want to speak out and discuss their issues, especially streamers, who are live for long periods of time and sometimes just talk to their audience about their personal life. Similar incident took place recently when co-owner of media group OTK or One True King, Matthew “Mizkif” confessed about being depressed in his latest stream.
Social media has made viewers seem more connected to the people they follow. With celebrities posting about what they do in a day, or vlogging their life, people feel as if they are part of these personalities’ life. This relationship between viewers and celebrities has also led to them opening up and being more transparent with their audience, ushering Matthew to take the decision to interact with his Twitch audience regarding his depleted mental health.
Although not sure, the Twitch streamer feels like stress is a massive factor in this issue. He also talked about choosing not to go to a psych ward because the last time he did it was a very bad experience for him. Mizkif is currently on antidepressants as well, which, he thinks, are also causing hair loss, as he talked about how he started having hair fall after starting his medication.
What can be the reason for the issues Mizkif is facing ?
It is speculated that Matthew’s current health issues are stemming from the problems he had earlier with the drama that took place regarding his reaction to a sexual assault claim. The claim was made by Adrianah Lee, who accused Mizkif’s close associate and fellow streamer, CrazySlick.
Mizkif was accused of downplaying the sexual assault claim because of his relationship with CrazySlick. The former OTK member received huge backlash from the audience which led to him publicly apologizing for his attitude before taking a sabbatical from streaming, which lasted for around a month. Mizkif has officially returned to streaming now, but considering his mental health, it’s not sure what the future holds for him.
